UNICEF celebrity advocate Anne Curtis visited the Municipality of Bobon in the Province of Northern Samar on July 26, 2017 as part of the Change for Good program of UNICEF and Cebu Pacific.
Anne had the opportunity to do a storytelling session for day care center pupils in Barangay San Isidro. Ann read “Ang Piyesta”, a story written by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan and illustrated by Gilbert Lavides about how a community was able to eliminate open defecation.
“Ang Piyesta” is one of the communication tools developed by CHSI as part of the “Goodbye, Dumi! Hello, Healthy” campaign of the Department of Health and UNICEF. Anne also visited another area, Barangay Somoroy, which was recently declared as a Zero Open Defecation community.
